The Open Road family is about to get bigger — and this one comes with a biergarten.
Open Road Outpost & Biergarten opens September 8, 2026, at The Boro in Tysons, bringing Metropolitan Hospitality Group’s signature combination of cold beer, live music, and American grill cooking to one of the most exciting mixed-use neighborhoods in Northern Virginia. It will be our fourth Open Road location and our first Outpost & Biergarten concept.
The approximately 5,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor space at 8354 Broad Street transforms the former Él Bebe location into something entirely new — a restaurant, bar, entertainment hub, and full-service biergarten built for everything from a Tuesday night dinner to a full afternoon of football on Sunday.

What to Expect Inside
The dining room is designed around colorful bar areas, large-format TVs throughout, and original artwork by Northern Virginia artist Jack Labadie. The vibe lands somewhere between a neighborhood hangout and a proper sports bar — casual enough for a weeknight, energetic enough for a big game.
The menu is built on American grill favorites, all made in-house by a kitchen led by Senior Executive Chef Cristobal Guevara, who has been with MHG for 12 years and also oversees the kitchen at CIRCA at The Boro next door. Think hand-smashed burgers, house-smoked wings, hand-cut fries, shareable platters, and seasonal specials that rotate with the calendar.
The beverage program leans into craft beer — local brews, rotating drafts, and a selection built for a biergarten crowd. And every cocktail on the menu is made with spirits from Open Road Distilling Co., our working distillery in Reston Town Center. American Vodka, American Gin, Eagle Eye Rye, and Independence Bourbon — all distilled or hand-blended by our own team — form the backbone of the cocktail list, which means the drinks here carry the same quality and consistency you’ll find at every MHG restaurant.

The Biergarten
The outdoor biergarten is the centerpiece of this concept. Originally part of the Él Bebe space, it had already become one of the most popular outdoor gathering spots at The Boro. Open Road Outpost carries it forward and builds on that momentum.
Open Wednesday through Saturday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. (weather permitting), the biergarten offers full food and drink service from the Open Road Outpost menu — not a limited bar-snacks selection. Grab a table, order the full menu, and settle in with cold drafts, cornhole, and live music. It’s the kind of outdoor space that’s hard to find in Tysons: relaxed, social, and genuinely designed to spend time in rather than pass through.

Two MHG Concepts, One Address
Open Road Outpost & Biergarten will join CIRCA Bistro under one roof at The Boroin Tyson’s. The two restaurants are connected but will offer completely different experiences — CIRCA is a contemporary American bistro with seasonal fare and a refined cocktail program, while Open Road Outpost is louder, more casual, and built for groups, games, and long afternoons outside. Same MHG commitment to quality, two distinct reasons to come.
Between the two, there’s almost no occasion that isn’t covered: date night at CIRCA, game day at Open Road, weeknight dinner at either, and a biergarten for every afternoon that has the weather for it.
Game Day at Open Road Outpost
Open Road has been named Best Sports Bar in Northern Virginia Magazine’s Best of NoVA awards five times — in 2020, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 — and won Favorite Gathering Place of the Year at the 2019 RAMMY Awards. That reputation carries over to The Boro.
During college football Saturdays and NFL Sundays, the Playbook kicks in with game-day specials running the entire time games are on: $6 pounders (Miller Lite, Corona, Michelob Ultra), $6 off buckets (domestic, seltzer, beach), $8 Open Road Distilling Co. pours, $8 house wines, $10 mules and crushes, and $2 off small plates and wings. Large-format TVs throughout the dining room and patio mean there isn’t a bad seat in the house.
Grand Opening Weekend
A grand opening weekend is planned for September 11–13, with live music Friday night from 8 to 11 p.m. Additional programming is rolling out throughout the fall, including football-focused weekend specials and seasonal events.
The Open Road Story
This is our fourth Open Road location, and every one has been a little different. The original Open Road in Merrifield opened in 2013 and is the five-time Best of NoVA winner that put the brand on the map. Open Road Rosslyn added a speakeasy — Salt — tucked below the main floor. Open Road Reston sits alongside Open Road Distilling Co., where every spirit poured across the MHG portfolio is produced. And now Open Road Outpost & Biergarten at The Boro will introduce a dedicated biergarten and a new format built from the ground up for outdoor dining and live entertainment.
What ties them together is the same thing it’s always been: fresh food, cold beer, cocktails made with our own spirits, and a space that feels like showing up at a friend’s place.
